Day 87
Stats: Walked 43 minutes
Exhausted after yesterday's walk. Plus, I didn't sleep well last night. Then, Tweedle-Dee & Tweedle-Dum wouldn't allow me to get a nap in this morning. So, I'm seriously dragging.
I'm very pleased that I managed that walk.

Day 81
Stats: 2 hours, 2 minutes; 21 laps
Despite a very bad morning, today's walk ended up being very good. I would never have anticipated a 5+ mile distance. Very happy with today & consider it an accomplishment.

Day 79
Stats: Walked 1 hour, 12 laps
Despite the fine mist, I walked the track today. It wasn't too bad. Though I had to borrow T's jacket while he ran. For some reason, I didn't think to grab mine as I was walking out the door. Duh! Ended up well into my walk, about the 40 minute mark, before I was warm enough to shed the jacket. Just in time for T to return and need it back. Funny how that works.

Day 78
Stats: Treadmill 1 hour (3 miles); Weights
Due to the rain, T & I headed to the gym. After the last episode, I was a bit skeptical. But, firgured the weight training would be worth it.
I must have been extra prickly that last time. Today was just fine.
In the course of my walk, I managed a 3 minute run, at a 4 mile/hour pace. I let Jillian yell at me, in my head.
Decent workout!

Really?!
Last weigh in was April 22. After 3 weeks, it was time for another.
The needle is going the wrong way! I'm up 2 pounds to 182. Ugh! This is so wrong. And, so discouraging.
I can tell I've lost inches on my upper body. Plus, I am so close to getting in the pants I'd outgrown. It just doesn't make sense!
This time, I really felt that the scale would have shown a loss. *sigh*

Day 74 & 75
Thursday Stats: 30+ minutes & weight training
Yesterday, one would have thought I had ADD. It was rainy & cold, so T and I went to the gym. I tortured myself for 30 minutes on the treadmill. Decided to try the stationary bike, instead. Managed that one all of 5 minutes.
The lack of a change in scenery does me in. And, I haven't found the focus I need to stick with those horrible hamster wheels.
The only good thing about the gym was using the weights. Concentrated on my upper body. Considering my noodle arms & all. :)
On the way home, we stopped at the track. One lap & I was done. The precip hitting my legs & face was too annoying.
Friday Stats: Walked 1 hour, 25 minutes
Thankfully, it was not raining.
Today, my walk was rather schizophrenic. T & I walked around the school. He wasn't particularly talkative. Not that he ever is. But, I could tell his mind was on running. So, I gave him the go ahead to run and headed for the track.
After retrieving my i-Pod, I circled the track 6 times. By this time, T was done his 3 miles. Instead of staying on the track, we headed in the opposite direction and walked through town a bit more.
All in all, I managed a minimum of 4 miles.
As unsettled as I was today, I wonder if yesterday's difficulties weren't due more to my mood. *shrug*

Day 73
Stats: Walked 2 hours, 4 minutes; 6.2 miles (river/college loop)
T gave me quite a work out, today. Steps & hills. I thought the college hill was never going to end. Other than being tired & needing a nap, I am doing very well.
Also, the P90X kit came yesterday. Still haven't gotten it out to see what I'm in for. And, I haven't figured out how to deal with the chin-up bar. T didn't seem to like my idea.
~Me, with the noodle arms, doing chin-ups. LOL!~

Day 70
Stats: Walked 40 minutes, 8 laps
After the shin pain I experienced on Thursday, my husband (the runner) suggested giving myself a day off. And, I followed that advice.
Normally, I don't walk on the weekends due to Jay being home. Plus, we are usually busy anyway.
But, today, Jay went to play at a friend's house. So, after dropping him off, I headed to the track to walk. It was ridiculously windy. But, all was well.

Day 67
Stats: 4 laps. Forgot my watch.
I was going to skip my walk, today. But, after dropping Jay off at school, figured why not. Should have stuck with the original plan. :(
Didn't even get half way around the first lap & my shins started hurting horrendously. So, I slowed down. Didn't help! On lap 2, every step was torture. I had to stop 3 times. Somewhere along lap three my left shin quit hurting. But, the pain never let up in the right leg.
After lap 4, I'd had enough.
What happened? I was fine after yesterday's walk. My legs barely bothered me, considering the distance I've logged this week.
Shin splints? I don't know.
After leaving the track, I stopped at the market for some fresh fruits & vegetables. We were out of everything but carrots. No problems. And, my legs feel fine right now. A little tired, but fine.
Ugh!

Day 66
Stats: Walked 1 hour 16 minutes; 16 laps
It was a miracle I got today's walk in. And, even more amazing that I managed 16 laps.
This morning I woke up exhausted. I've been working myself silly, along with the daily walks. And, this morning it caught up to me. Thankfully, I had Tammy counting on me to show up to walk. Plus, Jay had gotten up too late to catch the bus. Since, I had to be in town to take him to school anyway...I intended to show up to walk.
Then the phone rang at 7:36. *groan* I kind of figured Tammy was cancelling. But, instead, she called to tell me she was running late. Whew! I don't know if I'd have had the will power to get started without her. :( After 6 laps, she abandoned me. It was enough to help me find my groove, though.
My goal was to walk an hour. But, after meeting that milestone, I only needed 3 more laps for an even 16. If the track is laid out correctly, that should equal 4 miles.
With the start I had today, I am thrilled with these totals.

Day 64
I am having an unreasonable craving for Peanut M&Ms right now. Thankfully, there aren't any in the house...I checked. LOL!
Today's stats: Walked 1 hour 34 minutes, 20 laps
The first 10 laps were horrible. My right shin started hurting 2 laps in. So, I talked myself into completing just 4 laps. Then, it was just 4 more laps. By lap 5, my right calf started hurting. I was so ready to throw in the towel. But managed to convince myself to at least get 30 minutes in. Then, the goal was to get to lap 12.
By the end of lap 10, a Lady GaGa song came on my iPod & I managed to find my groove. The last 10 laps were actually enjoyable. Hard won, but enjoyable.
And, I'm so, so grateful for that iPod. I really don't know if I could have hung in that first miserable 45 minutes otherwise.
