After a couple of weeks of feeling really lousy, I realized that I'm starting to feel better. I've been in too much pain to do any of my favorite things, including, at times, holding a book to read.
But, today, things seem to have turned a corner. I found myself folding laundry & putting it away. Previously, it just sat in baskets for days while we picked out what we needed. Then, after my shower, I put out clean towels. It's something simple & routine. But, I haven't done so for a few weeks. Instead, we've just grabbed a towel from the closet as needed.
A small glimmer of hope!

Unwell
For the past 2 days, I have been feeling poorly...achy all over, queasy, extremely tired, intermitent headache. In short, miserable with no outward signs.
Therefore, my 'trainer' is driving me crazy! Running is simply not doable right now, thank you very much.

Day 317 thru 319
Tuesday Stats: Pilates, 30 minutes
Wednesday Stats: Pilates, 30 minutes
Thursday Stats: Walk/Run, 51 minutes (3.45 miles)
Alternated walking & running laps at the track. 31 degrees. The track was still snow covered in places.
While the running wasn't easy, I was somewhat at ease. Ran a full lap every time. In fact, I ran an additional, sixth lap. First time for that!
Friday Stats: Nada
Have not been feeling at all well today.

Day 317
Stats: Pilates, 30 minutes
It's too darn cold to be outside. So, I ended up doing Pilates while watching part of Biggest Loser.
Tim told me he thought he would have done better during the Megatransect if his core was stronger. I figure there's no time like the present to work on my own core. Can't hurt.

Day 310
Stats: Zumba 45 minutes; Walk/Run 1:03 (4.25 miles)
Is there a Zumba class for the ridiculously uncooridinated? If there is, sign me up.
Seriously though, I have hope that I will eventually learn the Zumba moves. Tammy & I actually had a couple of off topic discussions while doing a few of the Zumba steps with the instructional video. Then we hit some new moves. It's entertaining, to say the least.
Afterward, I went to the track to run. It was rather hard, today. Plus, at 30 degrees, breathing was a bit difficult. The cold air has left me with a cough.
Data:
Lap 1: Walk 4:26
Lap 2: Run 2:47
Lap 3: Walk 4:26
Lap 4: Run (3/4 lap)/Walk 3:18
Lap 5 & 6: Walk 8:44
Lap 7: Run (3/4 lap)/Walk 3:07
Lap 8: Walk 4:24
Lap 9: Walk 4:21
Lap 10: Run (3/4 lap)/Walk 3:13
Lap 11: Walk 4:26
Lap 12: Walk 4:18
Lap 13: Run (3/4 lap)/Walk 3:09
Lap 14: Walk 4:19
Lap 15: Walk 4:20
Lap 16: Walk 4:19
270 days until the Megatransect.

Day 309
Day 1 of Zumba...I have no rhythm. LOL!
Oh my word! How long does it take to learn the moves? Does ones body just get used to moving like that?
Really, I probably looked like Forrest Gump. Dance, Forrest! Dance!
Thank goodness for the privacy of my own home and a friend to look ridiculous with.
Try again, tomorrow, Forrest.

Megatransect Here I Come
I did it! This afternoon, I signed up for the Bald Eagle Megatransect. A 26 mile trail event that entails running, hiking and climbing.
If you are curious about the event, go here:
That's my goal for 2011. To train for and complete the Megatransect. That's all I want, to finish.
The countdown begins...273 days to go.
Day 307
Stats: Walk/Run 1 hour, 9 minutes (4.25 miles)
Ran 3 quarter mile segments & 2 partial quarter mile segments.
Today was supposed to be warmer than the 40 degrees we received. The plan was to Walk/Run the 5 mile lake loop. Instead, rain threatened according to the radar. Time was of the essence. As a result, Tim & I went to town for the New Year's Day walk.
I haven't done anything since the episode before Thanksgiving. Therefore, I am extremely pleased with the distance & running segments accomplished.
At present, two and 1/2 hours post workout, I am feeling a bit sore.
On the scale this morning...164.2 pounds. My goal was to maintain my weight through November & December. Very happy with the results.
