Day 152, Part 2

Stats: Biked 1 hour 15 minutes (10.5 miles)

We ended up going bike riding this afternoon. Didn't go off with out a hitch. We forgot the bike computer, my husband's GPS watch, bike gloves for Jay & I and I don't remember what else.

We also discovered that Jay's bike helmet was too small. Way too small.

Thankfully, there was a bike shop right there. It's where my husband buys most of his gear. Anyway, Jay finally found a helmet he liked--to the tune of $70. *gasp* It could have been been worse. The first one he liked was $170. Um, no!

Day 1 of the Weight Watching was an epic fail. Lunch ate up my days points and then some. Oops!

Day 152

Stats: Walked 1 hour 24 minutes (4.23 miles/16 laps)

Walked with my husband's GPS/watch this morning. It's a cool little gadget. In the process, I discovered that 16 laps around the outside of the track is slightly more than 1/4 of a mile. So, I've logged more mileage than I anticipated.

Also, today is my first day on Weight Watchers. I was really tired of not seeing any progress, despite the time and effort I've put in. Figured it couldn't hurt anything.

Now just to mesh Weight Watchers with trying to eat whole foods, and eliminating high fructose corn syrup and soy products in the process. I've got my work cut out for me. But, I feel it is doable.

Yesterday's weigh in was 182.8 at the WW meeting.

Day 150

Stats: Walked 48 minutes

This morning, I gave myself permission to sleep in. At 8:30, I was rudely awakened by a workman in the area. (He was trying to inform me that the electricity would be off for however long.) When he knocked, it set the dogs to barking their heads off. They calmed down & the goof knocked again. *rolling eyes* Since the dogs were awake, I had to leave my comfy bed to take them out. Thanks, dude!

Jay had his last tennis lesson this evening. And, Tammy & another parent joined me in my walk. Mrs. S. was not wearing walking shoes. I'm impressed that she managed walking as long as she did. It was a pleasant walk though.

After a really bad week, starting over with the running program.

I'm in a slump. Trying really hard to plod my way through it. I didn't want to get up this morning. Hit the snooze button repeatedly. But, wasn't sure if either of the girls would be waiting for me. So, I pulled my sorry self out of bed.

I'm so glad I did. But, I really need a nap now.

Giving in to the Pain...Temporarily

Today, I blew off my walk. Tired & in pain, I decided to just stay in bed.

The best way to describe the pain in my hands & feet is walking on hot sand, barefooted. The burning feels just like that, only I can't get away from it by getting off the sand or wearing flip-flops. This morning it would have been a great relief to have had my hands & feet cut off.

Then, one of the nerves, on the bottom of my left foot, started jumping. Ugh! At least that didn't last more than a few minutes.

Go away, pain!

Stats: Walk/Run (4/2) 30 minutes; Walk 1 hour 2 minutes

Exercised while Jay had Tennis this evening. Did very well on the walk. 4:30 laps.

The walk/run, I finished. Should have moved up to the next interval level by now. But, this evening was hard. Don't know if it was from the heat. Or, that I had a little food on my stomach. Maybe a combination of both.

Pain & Insomnia

The past two days have been awful. My feet have been incredibly painful. The shooting pains in my toes and in the soles have been frequent. When the shooting stops, my feet radiate pain almost to the point of throbbing.

My hands aren't much better, though they don't get the shooting pains. My thumbs, however, are giving me the strangest sensation. It's painful, yet they feel almost numb & swollen. Not the pins & needles, as if the nerves are waking up. At least with pins & needles, the annoyance stops. This doesn't end.

All this has left me out of sorts. Feeling cranky & frustrated.

Yesterday, I did laundry most all day just to keep going.

The insomnia last night hasn't helped. Where on earth did that come from? I thought I'd conquered that problem a while ago.

The last 3 segments of running were difficult. The first two I ran too fast. And, I'm supposed to do it, again, tomorrow. Ugh!

Gained 2.8 pounds in the last 2 weeks. Unbelievable!

After yesterday, I decided to take it easy today. Amazingly, I felt good this morning. Mentally, I was fully prepared to still be paying for yesterday's activity. But, I've recovered well.

Day 129

Walked 36 minutes
Bike Ride 1 hour, 5 minutes (10.4 miles)

Today, I lost my ever loving mind!

But, I'm extremely proud of what I managed with the bike ride. It's the first I've ridden on the roads around our house in years. I only had to push the bike 4 times. All of them at the end of the ride. Two of the hills were freakishly steep.

I was dreading the long hill throughout the ride. But, managed to climb over half of it before having to walk the rest. And, finally, the hill to our house...I had nothing left.

Now, I'm exhausted. All I want to do is go to bed. Twelve hours of sleep sounds heavenly. But, 5:30 pm is a bit too early to call it a night.

Met with Tammy this morning. The temps are heating up, which is making 7:30 am a bit of a late start to beat the heat.

Better morning this AM. Still hurt. But, the stabbing pains in my toes seem to have gone away.

Stats: Walked 50 minutes

Bad night. Even worse morning. My hands & feet are painful. And, I'm just exhausted.

This evening I was feeling slightly better. So, we went into town to walk after dinner. It most likely wasn't a productive walk. But, it's better than nothing.
