Day 122

Stats: Walked 1 hour, 27 minutes/16 laps

The past week has been rough. I've been sick. The weekend was too busy to squeeze in some exercise. And, yesterday I was in a fair amount of pain & totally exhausted.

It's a small miracle I managed a walk today. Thankfully, Tammy & I were to meet at 7:30 am. Had she not been there, I don't think I would have gotten out of bed. I was tired & in pain.

I really wasn't sure how much I would be able to manage. But, it ended up being a decent amount of time. Our pace was slower though. Rarely less than 5:30 per lap.

Day 120

Stats: Walked 1 hour, 11 minutes

Didn't sleep well last night, which resulted in a late start. Arrived at the track shortly before 7:30 am and found Tammy waiting for me. We kept each other going this morning.

After 4 days of no exercise, I'm feeling it in my legs.

Got through today's walk by just putting one foot in front of the other.

I'm not feeling well. And, I hurt. So, I'm chalking this one up to a bad day. *sigh*

Day 113

Stats: Walk/Run (4/2), 30 minutes
Walked 1 hour, 31 minutes

Decided to begin a running program. Today was relatively easy. From walking so much, I guess.

I'm starting to see a difference in my body. My upper stomach has thinned out noticeably. My hips seem slightly thinner also. Bad thing is, these two successes make my tummy more pronounced.

Didn't get here overnight. Isn't going to go away overnight.

Just have to keep plugging along.

Day 109 & Weigh in

Stats: Walked 1 hour 6 minutes; 3 miles

By some small miracle, I manage a decent walk this evening. My legs are still screaming when I navigate the stairs or upon sitting & standing. But, I did walk.

The first few laps took 7 minutes to complete. Normally, my pace is 4 to 5 minutes per lap.

After warming up, I was able to quicken the pace. I'm quite pleased with this 3 mile walk.

---This morning I stepped on the scale. Amazingly, my weight is 182.4 pounds. A loss of 1.2 pounds! *big grin* Finally, movement in the right direction. Hopefully, that will continue.

My legs are killing me. Stairs are difficult. Sitting down & standing up are down right painful. I don't want to move!

Day 108, Part 2

Stats: Walked 40 minutes; 9 laps

Muggy out. Felt like I was breathing water.

Managed two 2 minute runs. The first on lap 2. The second on lap 6.

New goal: Run an entire lap.

Day 108

Stats: 50+ minutes; P90X Disc 2

So, I ended up with this bright idea to buy the P90X program. It's been sitting for a month while I try to figure out a set up for the pull ups...like I'm ever going to be able to do those. Me...the girl with the noodly arms. *snort*

Haven't managed a workout since Sunday. Yesterday's attempt was almost non-existent. A whole 10 minutes/2 laps and Jay needed to come home.

So, this morning I decided to give the P90X a try. Just because the Disc has a #1 on it, doesn't mean that I have to begin with that one. Right?

Plyometrics is what he calls that workout. Jumps, lunges, squats. Ai-Yi-Yi!

Tony, I did my best! Wasn't pretty. But, I got the job done.

Truth be told, as imperfect as my attempt was, I am rather pleased with my performance. Room for improvement. But, that will be progress I can see.

Jay & I met up with Tammy & her boys to walk this evening. The boys rode scooters & played on the playground equipment while we walked. Worked out nicely.

Stats: Walked 1 hour; 12 laps

This morning, Tams called to see if I wanted to meet her to walk this afternoon. After 2 days off, I was so ready. Almost antsy from needing to expend some energy. It was a pleasant surprise, as I'd been wondering how much she would be willing to walk with the boys on break from school.

Actually, I've been very concerned about Jay's presence at home & managing an exercise routine. Today, we experienced some snags. We'll figure it out.

Stats: Walked 1 hour 2 minutes; 13 laps

At present, I have only managed a 3 mph pace. Today, I tried to walk at a quicker pace. But, it made my shins hurt. So, I slowed down to my normal walk. I'd rather avoid shin splints.

Weigh In

This morning's weigh in was another disappointment--183.6 on the new digital scale. That's a gain of over a pound.

Since the start of my exercize program 97 days ago, I've gained 5+ pounds. *sigh*

Day 96

AM Stats: Walked 1 hour 9 minutes; 13 laps

Quite warm out this morning.

PM Stats: Biked 1 hour 12 minutes; 10.67 miles

Dad, Tim & I rode bikes this afternoon. Rather warm. But, good ride none the less. Amazing for the fact that this is my first bike ride in over 2 years. The walking is really paying off in the endurance category.

We rode from C Place to CValley Road. Up hill all the way. Well worth it for the return ride.

I'm amazed that I don't hurt. Granted, I'm totally done for the day. But, I'm doing just fine.

It will be interesting to see what tomorrow brings.

Day 95

Stats: Walked 2 hours, 6 minutes; 5.7 miles

Woke up in considerable pain this morning. My hips were achy. My hands & feet were swollen and painful. All I wanted to do was go back to bed.

Thankfully, Tim was home which made me feel obligated to go walk. We ended up going to a state park & hiking around the lake. I figured I would end up with a decent walk one way or the other. That area is a little more difficult to call it a day in the middle of the trail.

It wasn't the easiest walk. So different from walking the smooth surface in town. But, the climbing and descending of the hills was a welcome change. It wore me out, though.

And, I ended up gettiing 3 little blisters on the top of my right foot. Very strange place for blisters.

I don't remember it being so tiresome. But, it's been a couple of years since we walked that regularly. I want to go back and try it again when I'm not dealing with my pain issues.

Stats: Walked 46 minutes

This morning was the perfect day for a nice, long walk. Unfortunately, I woke with a headache. Instead of walking, I was left to sleep off the pain.

So, I went to town early to get my walk in before picking Jay up for school. It was a lovely 90 degrees. *rolling eyes* Forty six minutes was pretty good for being so hot.
